Overview

We are seeking calm, resourceful, and energetic Relief Support Workers who are motivated and hardworking to join our team at Swanway, an independent Supported Living Service in Gateshead. This service houses individuals with learning disabilities and other support needs, such as autism, mental health needs, and physical disabilities. The service consists of 12 apartments with a shared outdoor space/gardens.

As a Relief Support Worker, you will support individuals in various activities they enjoy, including discos, swimming, and cinema outings. The ideal candidate will have skills in positive communication and engagement and demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the people we support. You will also act as a Key Worker, helping individuals achieve their dreams and ambitions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to individuals in activities they enjoy (e.g., discos, swimming, cinema outings).
  • Develop warm and trusting relationships with service users; act as a Key Worker to help individuals achieve their dreams and ambitions.
  • Provide personal care, medication administration, and assist with general administrative duties and housing management tasks.
  • Contribute to a positive team ethos with a can-do attitude and person-centred values.

You will be paid weekly.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of twelve months\\\’ experience supporting people with learning disabilities is essential.
  • Demonstrate a can-do approach, person-centred values, energy, and commitment; ability to contribute to a positive team ethos.
