We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, values-led and practical person to join the team at Space, a multi-sensory centre, working to enable carers to use the sensory facilities to gain the maximum benefit for children and adults with additional needs. The role would be for a minimum of 9 months and there would be further job opportunities after this point.

The nationally recognised Space centre is proud to offer services 7 days a week. You must be committed, positive and person-centred in your approach and have the ability to guide and nurture groups. Each day is different at The Space Centre and so the role requires an adaptable approach and a willingness to multitask.

A large part of the role is training colleagues and offering supervision, so good communication skills are a necessity along with administrative/IT skills. The role of Centre Coordinator requires an understanding of the impact of a sensory environment and experience working with technology and the ability to troubleshoot.

Shifts are based on a rota system which will include days, evenings and weekends. Full-time (37.5 hours) or part-time hours available (no less than 22.5 hours), hours can be worked flexibly on a rota between 9am and 8pm, planned well in advance. This role is a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave with the possibility of longer term.

Applicants should have some life or work experience working with people with physical and/or learning disabilities, including working with those with Autism.

Applicants must submit a completed Creative Support application form which can be requested or downloaded via the listed methods. You may attach a CV if you wish to support your application but CVs alone will not be accepted. An enhanced DBS check is required, which Creative Support pays for.

Creative Support is not a recruitment sourcing agency; all employees are directly employed by us. We do not accept contact from recruitment candidate sourcing/advertising agencies. Upon receipt of your application, we will email you a confirmation of receipt. If you do not receive this confirmation email please contact us via telephone or email.
