We are currently looking for Support Workers to join our established team in the quiet and scenic village of Oakley. Our residential service supports individuals with learning disabilities and other needs to enjoy an excellent quality of life.
Our service houses a range of active and sociable individuals, who enjoy spending time with our staff at the service, and being out in the community. Examples of activities include shopping, listening to music, pampering sessions, cooking & baking, movie nights, arts and crafts, visiting local cafes, and going out for meals. Our service users also love spending time in nature; the service has a large garden with lots of visiting wildlife, and there are plenty of countryside walks nearby.
Responsibilities
- Providing respectful and dignified personal care
- Medication administration
- Collaborating with colleagues, families and involved professionals to ensure a coordinated and consistent service
- Supporting individuals to manage all aspects of their home environment and ensure it is reflective of their personal tastes and preferences
- Support with budgeting and finances
Location and requirements
Our service is located close to the A6, and has free onsite parking; there are also good public transport links via the Number 51 bus from Bedford. However, a full UK driving licence is essential.
Experience and qualifications
Experience is desirable, but not required for this role. We welcome applications from experienced practitioners, graduates, and individuals looking to start their career in social care. We value a warm and caring personality, with a positive and proactive approach to making a difference in the lives of those we support.
