We are looking for a senior support worker within our Leeds Extra Care Service in Richmond Hill. Your role will be to support the management team in the local oversight of people supported across a community as well as in accommodation-based settings. We are looking for a warm, flexible and motivated individual to provide person centred care at our extra support service which enables older people to enjoy an active and independent lifestyle. You will work directly alongside individuals and promote healthy living and independence.

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, inclusive, organised and caring individual with forward-thinking qualities to support our service users to achieve greater independence, with the aim of working in partnership with agencies involved in their support and care planning. The successful applicant will be able to think on their feet and respond to a fast-paced environment, with a positive and proactive attitude. The role will involve promoting the rights of service users with mental health needs to move on positively to greater independence.

Your role will include:

  • Providing personal care, administering medication and help with domestic tasks.
  • Encouraging service users to engage in a range of activities both within and outside their homes.
  • Assisting the senior team in ensuring that the service fulfils all requirements and standards of the service specification, the Commissioners, Creative Support, and involved professionals.
  • Coordinating, managing and coaching a dedicated staff team.
  • Providing respectful personal care, practical and emotional support.

As a senior support worker, you will have a great opportunity to develop your career in social care management. You will need to have prior relevant experience in social care and have an understanding of the needs of people with extra care support needs.

Full training is provided, as is the opportunity to work towards QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care.
