We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and practical individual to join our team at Space, a multi sensory centre, working to enable carers to use the sensory facilities to gain the maximum benefit for children and adults with additional needs.
Contract and hours
The role would be for a minimum of 9 months (with a possible extension to 12 months), and potential permanent role opportunities after this point. The Space Centre is open 7 days a week. You must be committed, positive and person centred in your approach and have the ability to guide and nurture groups. Each day is different, so the role requires an adaptable approach and a willingness to multitask.
Role and responsibilities
A large part of the Deputy Manager role is training colleagues and offering supervision, so good communication skills are a necessity along with administrative/IT skills. The role of deputy manager requires an understanding of the impact of a sensory environment and experience working with technology and the ability to troubleshoot.
Hours and shifts
Full time and part time hours will be considered, with part time being no less than 22.5 hours a week. Shifts are based on a rota system between 9am – 8pm which will include days, evenings and weekends to be worked flexibly according to the needs of the service.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants should have some life or work experience working with people with physical and/or learning disabilities, including working with those with Autism.
