We are looking for a Befriender Volunteer to provide meaningful companionship at our supported living service in Audenshaw. Volunteering with Creative Support is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people with support needs while working alongside our team to deliver truly person-centred care.

We're seeking someone who is warm, sociable, and a great listener. As a Befriender, you'll spend time with one of the people we support, offering friendly conversation and companionship through regular meet-ups. If you can spare a couple of hours and are able to volunteer on a regular basis, we'd love to hear from you.

Activities may include arts and crafts, painting nails, or simply enjoying quality time together. If this sounds like something you would enjoy and you can commit a few hours on a regular basis, we'd be delighted to hear from you!

This role is for a supported living service for adults with learning disabilities.

Volunteer Duties:
  • Meet on a regular basis
  • Build trusting relationships whilst respecting boundaries
  • Support social inclusion
  • Facilitate meaningful conversations
  • Encourage independence
  • Promote a positive and supportive environment
  • Report any safeguarding concerns to Creative Support staff members
  • Understand and work within Creative Support Policies and procedures, respecting boundaries
  • Attend regular supervisions with your allocated volunteer supervisor and complete any training provided
