We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to run activity sessions for the people we support at our services in Bury. Volunteering with Creative Support is a great way to enrich the lives of people with support needs while helping our staff to deliver person-centred services. We are looking for a creative person who is patient, kind and compassionate.

You will consult the people we support and plan a varied programme of activities and events in line with their interests. Sessions could include arts and crafts, gardening, games, bingo, quizzes etc. If this sounds like something you would enjoy and you have a few hours to spare on a regular basis, we’d love to hear from you!

You will work with staff to promote activities to the people we support, encouraging tenants to get involved. You will plan for sessions in advance, preparing any necessary materials and/or equipment, and lead the activities, making them accessible.

We have 6 services in Bury which support adults with learning disabilities. We are looking for a volunteer to work across these sites to bring the people we support together as a community.

Volunteer Duties
  • Consult people we support to plan engaging activities/events in line with their interests
  • Prepare for activities including set-up, moving tables and chairs if necessary
  • Lead activity sessions, engaging with people we support
  • Tidy up after activities, returning the room to normal
  • Report any safeguarding concerns to Creative Support staff members
  • Understand and work within Creative Support Policies and procedures, respecting boundaries
  • Attend regular supervisions with your allocated volunteer supervisor and complete any training provided

Hours Flexible days and times – weekends preferred
