We are currently looking for a volunteer befriender to join our service in Wakefield to provide companionship for a lady we support. If you have a couple of hours to spare and can commit to volunteering on a regular basis, we would love to hear from you.
Are you a warm and chatty person, who is also a good listener? We are looking for a befriender who can help someone gain confidence and engage with the local community. The role will involve attending the service to carry out activities with our service users. These activities could include craft sessions, board games, quizzes, etc. We can be flexible on days and times, including evenings and weekends, in line with the needs of our Service Users.
As a volunteer with Creative Support, we offer training for your role, access to a volunteer supervisor, an induction, a monthly volunteer newsletter, and an online volunteer support network group on Zoom.
Volunteer duties:- Meet on a regular basis
- Follow safeguarding procedures, and report any concerns
- Develop a friendship and enjoy conversations together whilst respecting boundaries
- Complete any training provided
- Attend regular volunteer supervisions with your volunteer supervisor
