Part-Time
We are looking for volunteers to run activity sessions across our services in Leicestershire, bringing our residents together and providing opportunities for them to relax, try new things and meet new people. Volunteering with Creative Support is a great way to enrich the lives of people with support needs while helping our staff to deliver person-centred services. We are looking for a creative person with strong communication and leadership skills. You will consult the people we support and plan a programme of activities in line with their interests. Sessions could include arts and crafts, music, games etc. If this sounds like something you would enjoy and you have a few hours to spare on a regular basis, we’d love to hear from you.
You will work with staff to promote activities to the people we support. You will plan for sessions in advance, preparing any necessary materials and/or equipment, and lead the activities, making them accessible for everyone. Our services across Leicestershire support adults with mental health needs and learning disabilities, promoting independent living for the people we support.
Volunteer Duties
- Consult people we support to plan engaging activities in line with their interests
- Prepare for activities including set-up, moving tables and chairs if necessary
- Lead activity sessions, engaging with people we support
- Tidy up after activities, returning the room to normal
- Report any safeguarding concerns to Creative Support staff members
- Understand and work within Creative Support Policies and procedures, respecting boundaries
- Attend regular supervisions with your allocated volunteer supervisor and complete any training provided
