We have an exciting opportunity for a senior extra care support worker to join our friendly extra care team in Royston, Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
We are looking for a warm, flexible and motivated person to provide person centred care and support in our Extra Care Service in Royston, Barnsley which enables older people to enjoy an active and independent lifestyle. Our mission is to provide a safe, homely environment in which individuals with additional needs can live as independently as possible whilst receiving bespoke packages of care and support that fulfil their needs.
We are looking for someone who can lead a team of dedicated support workers to achieve positive outcomes for customers; this will include:
- Providing excellent, respectful and individualised support to all customers.
- Developing sincere and trusting relationships with customers and encouraging them to express their needs, views and concerns.
- Supporting the management team and coordination of service delivery, effectively meeting the needs of the customers and service.
- Providing mentorship, support and guidance for the staff team working within the service; including deploying staff and managing rotas.
- Working flexibly according to the needs of the service, including daytimes, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
As a senior support worker, you will be compassionate, motivated, diligent and able to empathise with individuals. You will have skills in positive communication and engagement, and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the people we support. You will also have skills in the assessment of needs along with positive and proactive risk management so that support planning for individuals demonstrates an active and fulfilling life with an emphasis on a βcan doβ approach.
