Are you passionate about delivering high quality, engaging, respectful and dignified care and support to older people? If so we are looking to recruit a passionate Senior Support Worker to join our existing management team in Carlisle.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will support the management of a small 27-bed residential care home in Carlisle, providing 24-hour support for older adults that require additional care and support, but without the need for specialist nursing care. At The Laurels, we pride ourselves on the support we offer to our residents, and we have won multiple awards over the past 2 years, including a High Commendation at the 2023 UK Care Home Awards and being shortlisted for the Care Home Chef awards in the same year. Our family reviews speak for themselves with a score of 9.8 out of 10 on www.carehome.co.uk.
As a Senior Support Worker, we ask you to care for our residents like they are your own family, addressing their physical, psychological, and social needs. You will assist residents with personal care activities including personal hygiene, dressing, and meals, while supporting them to fully engage in activities.
Above all, we’re looking for kind and caring people who want a job where they can really make a difference in people’s lives. Previous experience working in a care home environment is desirable but not essential. However, experience of leading a team and qualifications in care (Level 2 or above) are essential, as is the willingness to work flexibly according to the needs of the service, which may include daytime, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
