We are a nationwide charity providing support and care to older people in various London Boroughs including Harrow, Brent, Tower Hamlets, Bromley and Wandsworth. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to oversee the Activities Team which delivers a stimulating and relevant range of activities and events for our 200+ clients. You will be developing activities in a collaborative manner ensuring that they meet clients’ goals, improve their wellbeing and enhance social inclusion.
You must be a proactive and creative person with the ability to build links with the local community and access resources and new opportunities. A genuine interest in working with older adults at risk is essential as is having a commitment to diversity in all its facets. You will be well organised and efficient with excellent communication and IT skills (especially Word/Excel/Publisher). You will be approachable with a warm and effervescent manner. You must enjoy working in a team environment as well as able to work alone using your own initiative.
A core part of your role will be overseeing activity support workers and sessional workers, so having the skillset and confidence in supporting, managing and leading a staff team is essential.
In return for your commitment, we can offer you interesting and varied work and you will enjoy visible and supportive management from our Senior Management team. You will be based in our services in Tower Hamlets, Bromley, Wandsworth, Harrow and Brent and will be expected to travel across the city as required. All our services are easily reached by underground/DLR/railway. Working hours will be generally within the hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday; however there will be some work on evenings and weekends so flexibility will be required.
Full training is provided, as is the opportunity to work towards QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care.
