Job Description
We are recruiting experienced Relief Support Workers to join an established team of staff supporting people to enjoy an excellent quality of life. The Supported Living service in Bromham, Bedford has one shared flat supporting 3 people and 2 individual rooms. The service supports five individuals within learning disabilities and some mental health and some people within the autistic spectrum.
We offer an empowering model of support which enables people to lead fulfilling and valued lives, to participate in their local community, develop independent living skills and achieve their personal goals and desired outcomes. As well as providing direct care and support, you will have the opportunity to act as a Key Worker supporting people to achieve their dreams and goals.
A high level of motivation and personal commitment is required along with demonstrable skills in engaging service users in planning their support. You will also be expected to work professionally alongside Care Managers and health professionals and to communicate positively with families, carers and friends.
A minimum of twelve months direct care experience in a comparable support type is essential, as is a ‘can-do approach’, person-centred values, energy and commitment. You will need good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop good quality support plans. You will have a strong work ethic and duty of care and be able to contribute to a positive, team approach.
