We are looking for a workshop assistant for our Elevate project, funded by the National Lottery. Working with children and young people who have disabilities.

Salary – £17.30 per hour, 4 hours per week

Timescale – September 2025 – June 2026

Project Day / Time – Saturdays 12pm-4pm

Location – Blackburn Partnership Centre, Blackburn, West Lothian

Context

To support the delivery of drama / creative arts workshops for disabled children and young people. The project is funded by the National Lottery Awards for All fund.

Role Summary

You will support the development and delivery of drama / creative arts workshops specifically aimed at children and young people with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for:

• Supporting the delivery of drama / creative arts workshops specifically aimed at disabled children and young people.
• Supporting the leader as necessary throughout the workshop
• Taking a record of attendance at the start of each workshop.
• Joining in with and leading some group games and exercises.
• Developing a relationship with parents / carers and the children and young people taking part in the workshops.
• Taking photographs throughout the workshop and project so we have documentation.
• Being part of our creative and friendly team.

Person Specification

Essential –

• Experience of working in creative settings including a qualification in or working towards a qualification in drama and / or some experience of working in creative environments.
• A commitment to inclusion and creatively and resiliently accommodating different learning and behaviour needs.
• Excellent personal organisational skills.
• PVG membership or up-to-date disclosure Scotland.
• Own public liability insurance required if successful
• Ability to drive and access to car and / or good access to public transport links and able to travel.
• Experience working with / supporting children and young people with disabilities.
• Registered as self employed and has unique taxpayer reference
