About the role
Urras Oighreachd Ghabhsainn has an exciting opportunity for an experienced marketing and communications professional. We are seeking a creative, motivated and ambitious individual who has an aptitude for overseeing and delivering effective communications and public relations strategies.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in delivering high quality communications across a range of media platforms. They will work with the UOG management team to deliver UOG\\\’s overall communications strategy, and with the development team to support project specific media plans.
It is essential that candidates are goal orientated, with outstanding communication skills, as well as digitally literate.

- HOURS: 28HRS (NEGOTIABLE)
- Salary: £26,000 – £29,000 (pro rata)
- Duration: Maternity cover – fixed term till January 2027
- Location: Urras Oighreachd Ghabhsainn, South Galson

Essential Criteria
- Great ideas! You must bring fresh and innovative ideas to the table and be confident in implementing and delivering them to a high standard.
- Good interpersonal skills and a proven track record in relationship building, particularly with the media.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong marketing and communication campaign experience, both online and offline.
- Advanced IT skills, with an extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Wix and Canva.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and managing social media campaigns and content
- Excellent organisational skills including effective management of own workload, and compliance with all organisational processes.
- Experience of writing creative, innovative and powerful content for a range of audiences, ensuring they meet plain English and accessibility standards.
- Proven success in pitching ideas to media in order to raise the profile of an organisation.
- Complete respect for matters of confidentiality.
- Able to work effectively as a team member.
- Access to a car.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of working for a community land trust/community organisation.
- Fluency in Gaelic or an understanding of the Gaelic language/an enthusiasm to learn Gaelic.
- A degree in a related discipline such as marketing, communications, journalism, or the creative sector.
