Hive Mind Speaks is looking for a freelance fundraiser for our civic arts organisation exploring how artistic and creative intervention can act as a direct pathway to legislative and policy change. Our work blends bold provocative public art, participatory democracy and policy influence. We design large-scale artistic interventions that lead into structured public deliberation and independent national referendums, aiming to turn public voice into credible, research-informed policy recommendations.
We partner with the University of Glasgow, the University of Strathclyde and civic tech partner Crown Shy, ensuring our approach is grounded in research and focused on measurable impact. We are seeking an individual to join on a freelance basis to help shape and develop our fundraising approach, offering both strategic input and hands-on delivery.
Responsibilities- Help shape our overall fundraising strategy
- Build and refine a prospect pipeline across major donors, trusts, and foundations
- Support relationship cultivation and donor engagement
- Develop and execute outreach approaches
- Explore creative and earned income opportunities alongside philanthropic funding
You’ll work closely with the founder, supported by a small team of volunteers. This is an opportunity to help build the fundraising function from the ground up, with space to influence direction and deliver tangible outputs.
Qualifications- Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, and donor engagement
- Strong research and analytical skills for identifying funding opportunities
- Exceptional communication, writing, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in relationship management and networking with donors, sponsors, and community partners
- Experience with fundraising software or CRM systems is an advantage
- Passion for social impact and the mission of Hive Mind Speaks
We expect to start out at just 0.5 to 1 day a week to begin with, at a day rate of between £300-450 depending on experience. Initially, this will be a light-touch role to help take pressure off the founder and create early momentum. Over time, there is potential for this to develop into a permanent ongoing position as the organisation grows.
Location: All of Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland
Deadline: Thursday, 31 December 2026 at 11:55.
