Salary: Β£25,000-Β£28,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (9:00am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday)

Location: Studio-based, 6 Dock Place, Edinburgh EH6 6LU

Reporting to: Design Director

Experience: 2-3 years in a design role

About the Role

Studio MB are seeking a talented Junior Exhibition Designer with creativity, curiosity and strong visual communication skills. Working from our Edinburgh studio, you will help create engaging exhibition and visitor experiences for museums, heritage attractions, science centres and brand homes. The role is studio-based and will require you to work independently and collaboratively with our inhouse and consultant teams, contributing to projects from concept through to delivery. This role suits someone with 2-3 years' experience who is organised, proactive and eager to develop within a creative studio environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop creative design concepts from project briefs.
  • Produce visuals, renders, CAD drawings and 3D models.
  • Research products, materials and finishes and compile sample boards.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders including architects, curators, access consultants, AV specialists, lighting designers, contractors and installers.
  • Attend meetings, site visits and workshops in person and online.
  • Undertake subject and content research as required.
  • Record project notes and meeting minutes.
  • Support wider studio projects and activities when required.
  • Some UK and occasional overseas travel may be required.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Exhibition Design, Interior Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture, Product Design or a related discipline.
  • 2-3 years' professional design experience.
  • Strong visual communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient with relevant design software.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational, time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Receptive to feedback and committed to high-quality work.
  • Positive, proactive and detail-oriented.
