We are:

Seeking to recruit a dynamic musician and pedagogue to be our Head of our Junior Conservatoire (Music). You will provide academic leadership for our Junior and pre-HE Music students and staff, and lead the enhancement of pedagogy within our Junior provision. This role provides an academic bridge between the Junior Conservatoire and programmes and staff in the School of Music.

This is a key role:

Within the RCS, leading a strategically important department with managerial and budgetary responsibilities. Reporting to the Director of Music, you will collaborate with Conservatoire staff and external partners to ensure that provision aligns with institutional, local, national, and international priorities and needs.

You will be:

An educational leader with a distinguished reputation as an artist, maintaining the highest standards of conservatoire teaching and performance.

You should:

• Have demonstrated leadership in pre-HE Music provision within an academic setting.
• Possess extensive experience in performance pedagogy.
• Hold a degree in music and a teaching qualification.
• Have experience in primary, secondary, and/or tertiary education.
