Glasgow Life Museums seeks a Curator (Social History) to join our Museums & Collections team. You will support the research of our extensive social history collection held at Glasgow Life Museums.

  • Hours: 35 per week.
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Location: Hybrid.

What you’ll do

As Curator (Social History), you will develop and manage displays, publications and collections projects. Drawing on Glasgow Life Museums’ rich social history collections, the role explores the everyday, political and civic lives of Glaswegians, highlighting themes including colonialism, disability and LGBTQ+ histories. You will contribute to legacies of slavery and empire initiatives and foreground diverse community experiences.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone with the right skills who brings energy to the role. The following qualifications are preferred:

  • A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area
  • Experience of using museum collections for research, learning and public engagement
  • Experience in working with and advocating for communities as part of displays, exhibitions, and public programmes
