Overview
Nairn Book & Arts Festival is seeking a Festival Assistant to provide administrative and marketing support to its Artistic Director and Board. This is a freelance, 12-month contract.
Role & Responsibilities
- Events Administration: Assisting with event and ticket management, managing contracts and coordinating accommodation for participants.
- Marketing & Communications: Drafting copy for marketing materials, managing social media, and assisting with press releases. You\’ll also help with website and ticketing platform updates.
- Administration: Taking minutes at committee and board meetings, managing contacts, assisting with fundraising administration, and supporting our Friends Scheme and exhibitions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Highly organized, efficient and self-motivated with superb written communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong working knowledge of social media marketing and IT competency (including Word, Excel, Google Drive and photo editing software such as Canva).
- Willingness to work flexibly with evening and weekend work required, especially during the festival period.
- Own transport and a clean driving license.
Contract & Remuneration
Term: 12-month freelance contract, starting December 2025.
Hours: 16 hours per week, increasing to 20 hours per week from May to September.
Pay: £10,500 per annum, paid in monthly installments.
