Promote and sell It's Not Where You Start door to door and sometimes from our shopping centre stall in St Enochs. Engage customers, share the book's message, and inspire readers while driving sales. Are you confident, friendly, and love engaging with people? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Book Sales Assistant to help promote and sell the inspirational book It’s Not Where You Start over the summer months. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting with the public, sharing meaningful stories, and making a real impact through conversation and enthusiasm. You’ll be the friendly face of the book — sparking interest, answering questions, and helping customers walk away with a copy that could truly inspire them.
About the Role
As a Book Sales Assistant, no two days will ever be the same. You might be going door to door one day or managing one of our stalls within a shopping centre, engaging shoppers, promoting the message behind It’s Not Where You Start, and driving sales. You’ll represent the author and the spirit of the book, creating an inviting and positive atmosphere that encourages people to chat, and buy.
Key Responsibilities
- Engaging people in a warm, approachable manner
- Confidently promote and sell It’s Not Where You Start to a wide range of customers
- Share the story and message of the book with enthusiasm and authenticity
- Manage stock, handle cash or card transactions, and maintain an organised stock/display
- Report daily sales and feedback to the management or author
- Ensure the stock remains tidy, professional, and inviting throughout the day
About You
- Friendly, outgoing, and enjoys speaking with people
- Confident in promoting and selling products face-to-face
- Motivated, reliable, and able to work independently
- Passionate about books, personal growth, or inspiring others
- Professional in appearance and communication
