The Traverse Theatre is looking for proactive positive‑thinkers to join our Sales and Welcome Team from 27 July 2026 to 30 August 2026. You will assist in the provision of ticketing, audience development initiatives and merchandise sales during the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe period.
Responsibilities
- Processing face‑to‑face, telephone and internet reservations, donations and sales of tickets and merchandise.
- Operating computerized Box Office system, ensuring data input accuracy.
- First point of contact for general enquiries, visitors and deliveries.
- Providing excellent customer service to all customers including internal departments and visiting companies.
- Daily cashing‑up and reporting procedures.
This is a fixed‑term position from 27 July – 30 August 2026. There are no guaranteed hours, however we expect to be able to offer 12‑15 hours per week from 27 July and 30‑35 hours per week from 3 August 2026. Hours will include evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
- Our ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong customer service skills.
- A computer‑literate problem‑solver with cash handling skills, you will also be able to work on your own initiative and prioritise effectively.
- Experience of working with a ticketing system would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
