We are thrilled to be recruiting for a brand new role, Deputy Director of Music & Curriculum, to help shape and strengthen the musical delivery at our Big Noise programmes across the country. This is a new role, reflecting the desire to support effective learning and teaching across the organisation, in line with our organisational strategy. You will work closely with the Director of Music & Curriculum to support and strengthen the musical delivery of our Big Noise programmes, including key support in quality assurance, the planning & execution of training & induction, crossâcentre musical collaborations, and ensuring the principles of inclusive practice are embedded in our work. As part of the Leadership Team, you will also support the smooth running of the organisation and delivery on strategic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and strengthen the musical delivery of our Big Noise programmes.
- Provide quality assurance and plan & execute training & induction programmes.
- Facilitate crossâcentre musical collaborations.
- Embed inclusive practice principles in all musical activities.
- Assist the Leadership Team in the smooth running of the organisation and delivery of strategic outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience of large group/wholeâclass musicianship and instrumental instruction with a proven track record of success.
- Experience of teaching using a Kodalyâinspired approach and applying it to instrumental pedagogy.
- Experience of providing constructive feedback and training to musicians/teachers.
Hybrid working between our Big Noise centres across Scotland (in Stirling, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh) and home working. You will travel to and work from one of our centres for the majority of your week. This is a permanent, fullâtime (35 hours per week) post. Salary for this post is ÂŁ56,000 per annum.
