Our client is a leading advertising agency who are looking for an exceptional mid level Video Art Director to join their team in London! They do some incredible work mainly working with global luxury, premium, fashion, and lifestyle brands. They work 4 days in the London Studio with 1 day remote. This position will work closely with the Creative Lead.
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and conceptually driven Video Art Director to work under the Creative Lead in developing high-level video campaigns and content for high-end fashion clients. This role requires a strong strategic mindset, the ability to ideate at a conceptual level, and a deep understanding of visual storytelling, cinematography, and editing techniques. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for fashion aesthetics, emerging video trends, and branded content. The Video Art Director will work closely with senior creatives, project managers, directors, and external production teams to craft visually striking and strategically aligned video campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Creative Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and drive innovative video concepts for seasonal campaigns, brand films, and social content under the guidance of the Creative Lead and Chief Creative.
- Ideate at a highly conceptual level, ensuring strong alignment with client strategy and brand storytelling.
- Present video concepts, scripts, mood boards, and storyboards to the Creative Lead and Chief Creative.
- Maintain a strong awareness of emerging trends in video, fashion film, editing techniques, and digital storytelling.
- Execution & Art Direction
- Conceptualize and art direct video shoots, ensuring strong narrative, visual style, and high-fashion execution.
- Create mood boards, scripts, and shot lists to clearly communicate the creative vision.
- Oversee the post-production process, ensuring final edits align with the brand's aesthetic and storytelling goals.
- Ensure continuity across campaign visuals, maintaining brand consistency across multiple video formats and channels.
- Collaboration & Team Leadership
- Collaborate with production companies, external directors, editors, and motion graphic designers to execute high-quality video campaigns.
- Lead and guide internal teams in visual storytelling, pacing, and video aesthetics.
- Share knowledge, experience, and expertise with creative staff to foster innovation and maintain high creative standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in video art direction, film production, and/or creative concept development.
- A keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of fashion film, branding, marketing strategy, and digital storytelling.
- Strong understanding of narrative structure, cinematography, lighting, and editing techniques.
- Proven experience and ability to meet the aesthetic and taste level required to work with high fashion brands.
- Experience working with directors, DP's, editors, and production teams.
- Expertise in industry-standard video tools and software (Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptionally high creative standards.
