We have a great opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to join a leading manufacturer and distributor of a wide range of products including toys & games, gifts, and homeware products . Their offices are based in the Essex area and they are working full-time in the studio. Offices have onsite free parking.
The Role
We are looking for a Design Manager who has hands-on skills and oversees the design process for a project from concept to completion. You will lead a team of designers and artworkers to create packaging designs and general marketing artworks that meet the project specifications and client expectations.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the design and artwork teams, motivating and encouraging them to produce their best work.
- Oversee the design process to ensure designs and artwork are produced on time and to a high quality.
- Improve design processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with wider teams to understand requirements and obligations.
- Ensure all pack designs and artwork meet current legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
- Develop and maintain a corporate style in line with international identity guidelines, ensuring the brands remain fresh and relevant.
- Contribute to artwork/design projects with planning and coordination with key stakeholders.
- Possess solid experience with Adobe software, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Maintain a rigorous job tracking system, providing reports and information as required.
- Proactively research the latest design techniques and methodologies, sharing creative ideas and solutions with other designers and the wider organization.
- Work effectively with the team and cross-company teams to ensure a highly proactive and solution-focused service delivery.
- Participate in staff reviews, events, and development activities.
- Work to tight deadlines.
- Exhibit good communication skills at all levels.
