We have partnered with a creative event and brand experience agency who have a fantastic new role. They are looking for a Creative Production Director to join their design studio. Projects range from events to photoshoots, activations, and packaging toolkits with big brand names. Offices are in London; this position is studio-based with some hybrid working.
THE ROLE
The Creative Production Director will report into the senior leadership team and be responsible for the smooth running of a large number of projects and activations within the agency. The CPD will lead on day-to-day management of their team, being accountable for their performance and providing them with learning and development opportunities. You will manage various client teams, including senior level clients and directors, often leading on meetings with support from the wider team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading and producing large-scale projects and activations within the agency.
- Inspiring the team to ensure projects are delivered successfully on time and on budget from pitch to wrap stage.
- Signing off on project timelines, proposals, budgets, and recons on projects under £100k.
- Managing the team’s workload; ensuring projects are evenly distributed and that each member is getting the chance to take on new challenges whilst being supported.
- Supervising relevant project workflow management (CRM/Asana/Timesheets).
- Supervising client communication throughout the project.
- Managing all suppliers, including cost negotiations.
- Onsite management (UK and sometimes abroad) when required.
- Making senior decisions on client accounts.
- Line management of a project team, including goal setting, appraisals, training, and development.
- Expert training and coaching the team across project management, deck writing, and budgeting.
- Ensuring consistency and quality of projects and improving efficiencies within the team.
- Post-event evaluation of all projects (led by the producer) – collating reports and actioning any feedback.
- Steering the team to book onto culture activities and other team bonding and/or learning opportunities.
- Ensuring all projects are wrapped properly.
- Having a significant input into company culture, the way we work, and the general day-to-day atmosphere and aspirations of the business.
- Involved with resourcing, including interviewing new recruits and managing freelance staff.
- Identifying opportunities for new systems to simplify and speed up processes.
- Preparation of proposals and pitching for new business.
- Recognising and proactively seeking new opportunities.
- Ensuring annual profit targets, management of teams, suppliers, and client budgets.
- Supporting the Leadership Team in the day-to-day running of the agency.
- Proposing and pushing sustainable and responsible event options.
- Ensuring smooth office management of day-to-day storage and operations.
YOU WILL HAVE:
- 10 years minimum experience working within an event or experiential agency.
- Experience in delivering integrated campaigns involving events, knowledge of the whole production process, and the ability to interpret a brand and develop creative concepts that exceed expectations.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to inspire the team to give their best.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills for outstanding pitches.
- Creative ideas and an understanding of the clients’ vision.
- An awareness of current trends in advertising and design.
- A self-starting attitude and an open outlook.
- Resilience under pressure and against deadlines.
- Knowledge of the software (workflow) and applications involved in the creative process.
- Skills in managing people, projects, and resources.
- Awareness to pre-empt issues across both design and resource.
- Interest in sustainability.
