We are on the hunt for a talented, midweight illustrator and designer to join our client, a growing, award-winning storytelling agency based in the South Yorkshire area. They work mainly remotely with one day in the office. Their clientele spans the Educational, Government, and Public sectors.

About the Role

We now have an incredible opportunity for a midweight Illustrator with live scribing, illustration and graphic design skills and a flair for building collaborative relationships, communicating complexity clearly through visuals and the ability to bring stories to life for their clients. The purpose of this role will be to work in the illustration design team, create illustrations (both live at events and in the studio), infographics, reports, project brands and animation assets that tell the story of cutting-edge research through pictures. You’ll also be hands on throughout the process, co-designing outputs with clients and research participants to change the world.

Responsibilities:

  • You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment, supporting the team in delivering awesome client projects.
  • You’ll be an integral member of our tight knit team from the get-go - you’ll be hands on with clients from onboarding through to project delivery, client aftercare and promoting our expertise on social media.
  • You’ll get your hands all over designing infographics, illustrations, illustrated reports, social media images, branding, websites and animation assets for client projects and marketing material.
  • You’ll be co-designing visual outputs with clients and research participants from diverse backgrounds, considering their feedback and ideas at each stage of the design process.
  • You’ll be live scribing (illustrations that happen live) at events across the UK and internationally.

Requirements:

  • A Graphic Design/Illustration graduate or graduate in an associated subject, with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.
  • A self-starter who shows initiative and has incredible inter-personal and communication skills - to understand our clients and work in our team you’ll need to connect deeply with them!
  • A quick thinker, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and communicate complicated ideas quickly and visually.
  • A curious mindset and a creative problem solver who cuts through complexity with sharp visual thinking skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Have a portfolio that demonstrates the ability to communicate complicated ideas simply and beautifully.
  • A hand drawn style aesthetic and skill for live scribing, sketch notes and infographics.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and a wizard with an Apple Pencil, iPad and Procreate.
  • Web design experience and animation experience also a plus.
