Our client is an agency helping academics and the public sector tell better stories for a better world. We’re looking for a Midweight Illustrator / Designer with 2D explainer-style illustration skills to lead the design team, deliver stunning visuals, and bring complex ideas to life. You’ll work across infographics, illustrated reports, branding, animation assets, and live event scribing.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to client projects from onboarding to delivery, aftercare, and promotion.
  • Design infographics, illustrations, reports, social media content, branding, websites, and animation assets.
  • Co-create visuals with clients and participants, integrating feedback throughout.
  • Live scribe at UK and international events.
  • Work remotely with one office day per week; travel for client meetings (expenses covered).
  • Occasionally support evening and weekend projects.

Requirements

  • Proactive self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think quickly and visualise complex ideas clearly.
  • Creative problem-solver with strong visual thinking skills.
  • Confident managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, or related field, plus 3+ years’ experience.
  • Portfolio showing ability to simplify and visualise complex ideas beautifully.
  • Skilled in hand-drawn illustration, live scribing, sketchnotes, and infographics.
  • Proficient in Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, iPad, Apple Pencil, and Procreate.
  • Web and animation design experience desirable.
  • Love of dogs a plus!
