A leading global media organisation is seeking a skilled Freelance Podcast Audio Editor to support its expanding podcast division. This is an onsite freelance contract offering flexible hours with a focus on UK/US time zone overlap. The role requires both weekday and weekend availability and involves close collaboration with international teams based in the UK and New York.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit and mix podcast interviews and docu-style content to broadcast-ready quality.
  • Apply EQ, compression, de-essing, gating, and dialogue-leveling techniques to spoken-word recordings.
  • Use Adobe Audition and Descript for waveform and multitrack editing, noise reduction, spectral repair, and text-to-audio workflows.
  • Incorporate dynamic mixing techniques including fades, automation, panning, and effects such as reverb or filters.
  • Prepare audio for delivery using proper LUFS standards and mastering chains.
  • Collaborate with producers and editors across time zones.
  • Operate and support remote recording workflows (Riverside, SquadCast, Descript Rooms).

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Audition and Descript.
  • Experience mixing and mastering podcast or interview-based content.
  • Strong understanding of audio post-production workflows and best practices.
  • Familiarity with remote recording tools and protocols (Riverside, SquadCast, Descript Rooms).
  • Attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible schedule with availability across weekends and during overlapping UK/US working hours.

Contract Details:

  • Duration: 2 months.
  • Rate: £50/hour via LTD company (paid for all approved hours, including weekends).
  • Schedule: Approx. 40 hours/week, focused Saturday–Wednesday.
  • Location: Onsite (London-based candidates preferred, must be available for UK/US timezone overlap).
