Our client is an award-winning full-service storytelling agency looking an exciting opportunity for a Midweight Animator / Motion Designer to join our animation team. Reporting into the Lead Animator, you’ll create 2D and 3D animations and illustrations that bring powerful stories to life.
** 4 DAYS REMOTE / 1 DAY ONSITE – NORTH YORKSHIRE **
** Must have solid experience doing character design **
The Role
- Collaborating with our team, clients and freelancers to deliver animations that drive social good and build our brand.
- Creating storyboards and animation assets using your own illustration skills, or working with illustrators to develop ideas.
- Producing high-quality 2D and/or 3D animations (2–5 mins) across a variety of styles and techniques.
- Supporting the development of animation pipelines, tools, and workflows.
- Ensuring animations meet technical and creative requirements and deadlines.
- Keeping up to date with industry trends, techniques, and software.
- Participating in client meetings and presentations, confidently communicating and pitching animation concepts.
- Applying your illustration skills to print and digital projects when needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Illustration, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in animation, with a strong portfolio showcasing 2D/3D animation and illustration.
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects (essential).
- Solid understanding of animation principles, timing, and storytelling.
- Strong character animation skills, including lip-sync and facial expressions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Drive (Docs, Sheets).
- Experience in explainer animations for research/public sector is a plus.
