Midweight Animator/Motion Graphics Designer
Salary: £28,000–£30,000
Location: South Yorkshire (4 days remote / 1 day in studio)

Our client is a creative storytelling agency that helps academics and the public sector share big ideas, solve problems, and create impact through visual storytelling. Their award-winning team delivers projects across animation, illustration, infographics, branding, reports, and live scribing for clients in the UK and internationally.
We are looking for a Midweight Animator / Motion Designer to join their growing animation team. This role will focus on creating 2D and 3D animations and illustrations for both client work and their own brand.
Key responsibilities include:
- Storyboarding and creating animation assets using your own illustration skills or in collaboration with illustrators
- Producing high-quality 2D/3D character and object animations across a variety of styles
- Supporting the development of animation workflows and pipelines
- Participating in client meetings and presenting animation concepts
- Contributing to wider design work where needed
Requirements:
- At least 2 years’ experience in animation, with a strong portfolio covering 2D and/or 3D work
- Strong illustration skills and proficiency in Adobe After Effects (and other animation tools)
- Experience in explainer animations for research or the public sector is an advantage
- Strong storytelling, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
