About Day Job: Day Job is a creative studio headquartered in Los Angeles with around 20 full‑time employees. We conceptualize brands from the beginning and launch them into the world. We work largely in consumer spaces, branding or rebranding for companies like Recess, Fly By Jing, David, Grindr, A24, and The BBC.
Residency Description: Resident Brand Designers will work as fully‑integrated members of the design team, designing for real clients, with mentorship and guidance from our lead designers. We’re looking for unusually smart, weird, and interesting designers to join us for the winter at our boutique multidisciplinary design studio — with the possibility of sticking around longer (and maybe even going full‑time if the vibes and work are right). You will contribute to a wide variety of interesting projects, but will also make adjustments to dielines and stuff. Expected to work full‑time Monday - Friday. This is an in‑person program, with some remote days.

Responsibilities:
- Ideate and support the design team across a multitude of projects from image research, logo sketches, and brand system conceptualization.
- Support design execution across branding, identity, packaging, digital, and print projects.
- Assist in production tasks, print file prep, and asset delivery.
Qualifications:
- Multidisciplinary approach to graphic design
- Ability to ideate, design, and develop brand systems from scratch
- Ability to customize type & create custom wordmarks
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and deadline‑driven
- Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and iterate
- Ability to approach design with a unique point of view while balancing commercial viability
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
