Eligibility
Mother Design’s placement programme is open to all with no barriers to entry. Aspiring applicants simply need to show their exposure and passion for design either through formal design education, professional or self‑directed work.
Selection Process
If successful, you’ll be invited to interview either in person or via Zoom. We appreciate that everyone is an individual with unique needs, so if you require any adjustments to the process, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
You’ll be assessed on past achievements, but most importantly on your potential to learn and grow from the programme. It’s essential that you’re highly motivated, design‑obsessive, and hungry to make the most of this opportunity.
What to Expect
An opportunity to learn about the industry and begin to form the skills and knowledge required to become a designer in a creative studio.
During your time with us you’ll shadow Designers and work on live creative briefs. You’ll also be assigned a mentor from the design team to make sure you get the most out of the experience.
At the end of the programme you’ll have new work to add to your portfolio, agency experience, industry contacts and new friends.
Hybrid Working
Our studio is based in the heart of Shoreditch, in the biscuit building where we share offices with our neighbours from Mother, Broody, the Romans, Wellcome, The Or, and many more.
- Tuesday & Thursday are our anchor days in the studio. Everyone is expected to be in so that we can work as a team together.
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are optional remote working days, though you’ll be requested to come on specific occasions if projects or studio require it.
We also encourage you to make the most of the studio environment by attending in person as much as is feasible.
Location
10 Redchurch Street, Shoreditch, London. Position unsuitable for remote candidates.
Salary
London Living Wage. We also provide free breakfasts, lunches, snacks and treats daily!
Start Date
Various throughout 2026 with some flexibility dependent on candidate.
