Creative Kitchen is looking for Workshop Leaders to join our growing team from June to September. We’re currently recruiting for roles across the Consett and surrounding areas. If you’re looking for a fun, flexible role that fits around your schedule, this could be perfect for you.
As a Workshop Leader, you’ll deliver exciting, hands-on After-School Cook Clubs, helping children build confidence, creativity, and independence through cooking. You’ll be leading engaging sessions where young chefs can explore new skills, try new recipes, and have a brilliant time in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment. Term-time only options available, as well as holiday work. Both flexible part-time and self-employed opportunities are available.

Creative Kitchen is a cooking school offering interactive, hands-on cooking workshops for people of all ages. We run regular term-time sessions at our cooking school in Consett, as well as outreach in nurseries, schools, and care homes. We also host birthday parties, events, and team-building activities. Our workshops are educational, engaging, and full of fun, designed to help participants of any age learn new skills, explore creativity, and build confidence. Through creative, hands-on activities, we aim to inspire a lifelong love of food and cooking.
We’re looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Workshop Leader to deliver our cooking sessions for children, families, and adults. All session plans are provided, so your focus will be on guiding participants, offering support and encouragement, and ensuring sessions run safely, inclusively, and enjoyably. You will deliver sessions both at our cooking school and in outreach settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engaging, hands-on cooking workshops for participants of all ages using prepared session plans.
- Provide guidance, instruction, and support to help participants learn new skills and build confidence.
- Prepare, set up, and oversee cooking activities, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
- Adapt your approach to suit different age groups, abilities, and settings.
- Assist with general cleaning, set-up, and tidy-up after each session.
- Support the promotion of Creative Kitchen sessions, engaging with schools, community groups, and other partners.
- Collaborate with other Workshop Leaders and staff to ensure high-quality experiences.
- Represent Creative Kitchen in a professional, approachable manner.
