Make your mark on a more inclusive art world! (Voluntary to Paid)
We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Tech Lead to help realise our vision of a more accessible, innovative, and inclusive art world.
About the opportunity
It’s time for the art industry to change, to actively embrace and engage more diverse audiences. We believe online experiences are key to this transformation, and have ambitious plans for how to make it happen.
The challenge
We aim to set a new standard for virtual exhibitions, creating experiences that are both unexpected and immersive. Making them widely accessible, these experiences will welcome individuals with disabilities, neurodiversity, and blindness. Achieving this will take innovative thinking, creativity, and determination – but we know it’s possible.
The solution
Well, hopefully you! As our Tech Lead, you’ll play a crucial role in driving change, using your expertise, creativity, and vision to bring this vision to life.
You’ll be a Full-Stack Developer with in-depth knowledge of custom WordPress, including theme and plugin development and experience with Advanced Custom Fields.
The role starts as a voluntary commitment (minimum of 1 day a month) but is designed to grow with us. We are an early-stage start-up. As we secure funding, your role will evolve into paid part-time or full-time project work, with flexibility based on your availability. In the long term, there will be opportunities for company share options, allowing you to play a key role in our success.
Your journey with us will start by laying the groundwork for our platform, ensuring it meets WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards and is built for scalability. Working closely with our Curator and Creative Director, you’ll help shape the vision for our virtual experiences, beginning with the development of a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to test and refine our ideas.
As funding is secured, you’ll lead the full-scale development of the platform, helping to transform our vision into reality and redefining how audiences engage with art.
What you can expect
Unlimited Growth
This is a new role, entirely yours to shape. You’ll be joining us at the very start of our journey, playing a key role in shaping our vision and the future of our industry. The possibilities are endless.
Complete Flexibility
As a neurodivergent team, we understand that everyone works differently. With no set working days, locations, or hours, you’re free to work remotely or from our co-working space in Hertfordshire, whatever suits you best.
Exciting Industry
It’s not all about tech. You’re welcome to join us as we step away from our desks to attend exhibitions, openings, and creative workshops. It’s a beautiful, exciting industry to be a part of, so we make sure to enjoy it!
Inspiring New Talent
We regularly involve interns in our projects to nurture their skills. As part of the team, you’ll work with students on larger projects, helping to pass on knowledge and inspire a new generation of talent.
