Creative Gardens - Food Co. Bakehouse – Crawfordsburn Road, Newtownards. At Creative Gardens, baking is at the heart of what we do. Our cafés are known for their home‑baked treats, made freshly in our own kitchens every day. As we continue to grow, we’re excited to be opening a dedicated Bakehouse—allowing us to create even more of our delicious bakery products for you to enjoy at home, under our new brand, Creative Gardens Food Co. Responsible to Bakehouse Production Manager. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to support the day‑to‑day cleanliness and organisation of our bakehouse. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, efficient, and hygienic working environment for the production team.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Washing bakery equipment, utensils and tools
  • Tray washing and maintaining clean baking equipment
  • Dealing with deliveries of goods in, stock handling and stock rotation
  • Cleaning and sanitising work areas, surfaces, and floors
  • Supporting proper ingredient storage and organisation
  • Waste management, including disposal and recycling
  • Ensuring hygiene and food safety standards are maintained at all times

Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment
  • Good attention to cleanliness and hygiene
  • Reliable, punctual and flexible with working hours
  • Available to work 5 days per week
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Previous experience in a kitchen, bakery or cleaning role
  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
  • Experience using commercial dishwashing equipment
  • Understanding of safe manual handling practices and COSHH
