As we continue to grow, we’re excited to be opening a dedicated Bakehouse—allowing us to create even more of our delicious bakery products for you to enjoy at home, under our new brand, Creative Gardens Food Co. Responsible to: Bakehouse Production Manager
This role requires the preparation of ingredients, supports production of various bakery items, decorating and finishing, and packaging & labelling of bakery products and helps prepare products ready to dispatch to our stores.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Weighing ingredients, preparing mixes, fillings, icing, toppings
- Lining trays and preparing tins
- Dough scaling and shaping
- Icing cakes, decorating traybakes, chocolate finishing
- Cutting, portioning and packing bakery items
- Ensure correct labelling of products (ingredients, allergens, dates)
- Quality checking finished items
- Prepares products ready for dispatch, order picking for each location
- Organising dispatch and ensuring timely distribution
- Stock rotation and basic stock handling
Experience:
- Experience in a food production or kitchen environment
- Good attention to detail, especially with labelling and allergens
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active role
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to follow instructions and processes accurately
- Reliable, punctual, and fulfil required working hours
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Previous bakery or food manufacturing experience
- Basic food hygiene knowledge (e.g. Level 2 Food Safety)
- Experience with packing, labelling, or dispatch processes
- Confidence with portioning and finishing baked goods
- Understanding of stock rotation (FIFO)
- Interest in baking or food production
