The CAA Brand Management controllership finance team is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Senior Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. The role will report into the Financial Controller with the possibility of line managing a Finance Assistant. The controllership team supports the learning and development of your finance career.
Responsibilities
- Preparing a multicurrency consolidated trial balance for 4–8 entities under UK GAAP for statutory audit, including eliminations and equity reconciliation.
- Experience in coordinating financial statement production with a consulting firm.
- Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations on a timely basis, collaborating with other members of the finance team and other business colleagues.
- Approving all bank postings and other journals prepared by the finance assistant.
- Preparing month-end journal postings (e.g., prepayments and accruals) for Brand Management operations across the UK and the rest of EMEA (2 additional entities).
- Working with the finance assistant to audit-proof the business by ensuring all expenses and vendor purchases are supported by appropriate documentation and that this documentation can be found easily.
- Aid the Brand Management finance team as we transition from D365 to SAP.
- Completed ACA/ACCA qualification or on the last exam with a strong fundamental understanding of double-entry accounting.
- Experience in consolidating multiple trial balances, with attention to detail and understanding all steps required to present a final consolidated trial balance ready for audit and financial accounts preparation.
- Able to see the big picture, i.e., think about the whole P&L and balance sheet and anticipate/articulate how certain transactions will affect the accounts.
- Exposure to accounting systems in a previous role; Microsoft Dynamics and/or SAP is ideal but not required.
- Bring a positive, high-energy, can-do attitude to the team.
- Inquisitive in nature and always keen to learn more, not afraid to ask questions to keep tasks moving forwards efficiently.
- Works well within a collaborative team, building face-to-face relationships.
