Position: Event Production Technician
Hours: 45 hours per week - Shift pattern working 5 days out of 7 (Weekend work required)

Purpose of Role
As part of our continuing expansion plans, we are seeking an experienced and versatile Event Production Technician to join our team. You will work both alone and as part of a team to help produce and execute an exciting portfolio of projects and activations with a range of industry‑leading clients across the Technology, Fashion and Drinks sectors. This role is crucial in ensuring the highest quality production for a wide variety of live, virtual, and hybrid events. The ideal candidate will contribute to Creation’s reputation for technical ability and exceptional experiences in the live events industry. The successful candidate will also be at home in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment and thrive under pressure, best suits upbeat and self‑motivated individuals who enjoy working systematically and productively. If you have the experience we are looking for, then you will already know that this is not a 9‑5 job. Due to the nature of our industry, we require our employees to have a flexible approach to their working hours. Weekend work will be required.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Operate sound, lighting and power systems for a wide variety of productions and corporate events.
- Ensure Creation technical production equipment is fully prepared, tested, maintained, and processed in the warehouse before dispatch and upon return from site.
- Oversee the preparation, maintenance, safe operation, and lifecycle management of Creation technical production equipment in both warehouse and live event environments, including the planning, implementation, and safe removal of technical and scenic installations.
- Program and operate lighting consoles and associated software, maintain and troubleshoot equipment, and oversee the onsite delivery and management of technical power, lighting, and sound systems.
- Lead as Site Technician during live events and shows, overseeing the professional setup, testing, operation, and pack‑down of all sound, lighting, and power systems.
- Deliver high‑quality live audio and lighting by mixing sound for performers and DJs, programming and operating lighting cues, and making real‑time adjustments to enhance performance and audience experience.
- Conduct pre‑show sound checks and lighting tests, monitor levels for clarity and safety, and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently during build and live scenarios.
- Maintain, care for, and ensure the safe operation of all technical equipment, leaving venues and sites safe and tidy after each event.
- Advise Account Managers on more complex technical elements of live events.
- Ensure health and safety standards are consistently met, maintaining compliance with regulations and industry best practices, and proactively stay up to date with the latest technologies, rigging methods, power systems, and safety procedures.
- Support event logistics by delivering and collecting equipment using company vehicles.
- Support wider business needs by briefing freelance crew on‑site, assisting other departments, supporting onsite builds, and maintaining clear and professional client communication on site.
What We Are Looking For
Successful candidates will have a proven track record within the events industry, with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the live events industry, including at least 3 years as a lighting engineer within the corporate sector and they will have the ability to work overnight on event sites. Knowledge of technical equipment across live, experiential, set, sound, rigging, lighting, power, and logistics sectors, including proficiency with industry‑standard equipment, networking, intelligent lighting fixtures, and LED technology (required). Any industry standard qualifications – Plant tickets, H&S, First Aid (preferable). BS7909 Qualification (preferable). Knowledge of CAD software (preferable). Confident IT skills (preferable). Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 25kg, working at heights and in dark environments, and demonstrating dexterity for operating equipment and handling small components. A full driving licence (required).
