Creating Effective Generations (CEG) is a Manchester-based youth organization that supports young people affected by Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE), Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), and County Lines activity. CEG focuses on young people from disadvantaged communities who face barriers to opportunity and have limited access to guidance and resources.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Youth Mentor & Business Support role based in the Manchester, but may drive to other locations outside the city to conduct mentoring sessions. The role involves providing one-to-one and group mentoring to young people from challenging backgrounds, supporting them to set goals, develop life skills, and access education, training, or employment opportunities.

The Youth Mentor & Business Support team member will help design and deliver workshops and activities, maintain regular contact with young people, and contribute to safeguarding and risk assessments.

Day-to-day tasks include documenting case notes, liaising with families and partner agencies, and helping coordinate program logistics and administrative duties that support the organisation’s operations. The role also involves supporting outreach, community engagement, and project reporting to ensure services remain effective and responsive to the needs of young people.

Qualifications

• Lived experience of CSE or CCE is desirable. Working with young boys and girls who are victims of these circumstances.
• Experience in youth work, mentoring, or supporting young people from disadvantaged or high-risk backgrounds.
• Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries, uphold safeguarding principles, and work with sensitive information confidentially.

Organisational

• Organisational and administrative skills, including accurate record-keeping, scheduling, and basic IT literacy (e.g., email, spreadsheets, case management systems).
• Experience collaborating with schools, social services, community organisation, or multi-agency teams is beneficial.
• Knowledge of issues related to CCE, CSE, County Lines, and youth violence, or willingness to learn through training.
• Resilience, empathy, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond calmly to challenging situations.
• Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice, and a genuine desire to support young people to achieve positive outcomes.

Requirement

Must have a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle.

Maximum of 6 points on driving license

Salary

Starting salary of £27k per annum with the opportunity for progression within the organisation year by year.
