About the role and team:
You will form part of a cross-functional agile team, working closely with 3-5 other engineers, led by a Tech Lead, and working closely with QA, Product and Design to deliver high-quality work for clients across a number of industries. Your role in the team is highly valued, and you’ll be a key player in ensuring the success of our projects.
What you'll be doing:
- Backend Development: Building robust and efficient backend systems using Java, RESTful APIs, and database technologies.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, share knowledge and promote software engineering best practices at all times.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the full project team (including BAs, QAs and members of the client team) to provide the best solutions to our clients.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.
We'd love to talk if you have:
- Commercial experience with one or more technical stacks: Java, .NET, Typescript (Backend/Frontend), Automation, or Mobile (native and/or cross-platform).
- Skilled at using modern cloud infrastructure, experienced when it comes to deploying and hosting applications on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
- You actively facilitate and encourage knowledge sharing within your client team, as well as the wider Engineering department.
- You advocate for best engineering practices such as: code reviews, paired programming and automated tests.
Nice to have:
- You are familiar with the concept of DevOps and CI-CD.
- Experience of using tools and applications such as: K8s, Docker, Terraform, Splunk, Chef, Puppet or Grafana.
