About the role and team:

You will form part of a cross-functional agile team, working closely with 3-5 other engineers, led by a Tech Lead, and working closely with QA, Product and Design to deliver high-quality work for clients across a number of industries. We strive to create the best product possible with everyone's effort, and you’ll be an integral part of that mission. Your role in the team is highly valued, and you’ll be a key player in ensuring the success of our projects. We define our Lead role as someone who is able to confidently champion technical improvements, sets the bar high for best engineering practices and takes responsibility for the overall success of the project for the client and CreateFuture.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Backend Development: Building robust and efficient backend systems using Java, RESTful APIs, and database technologies.
  • Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, share knowledge and promote software engineering best practices at all times. You will also lead the technical direction on your client project and ensure that your solutions are well understood and implemented.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the full project team (including BAs, QAs and members of the client team) to provide the best solutions to our clients.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.

We'd love to talk if you have:

  • Commercial experience with one or more technical stacks: React, Node.js, Azure, JavaScript, TypeScript (Backend/Frontend), Automation, or Mobile (native and/or cross-platform).
  • Skilled at using modern cloud infrastructure, experienced when it comes to deploying and hosting applications on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
  • You actively facilitate and encourage knowledge sharing within your client team, as well as the wider Engineering department.
  • You advocate for best engineering practices such as: code reviews, paired programming and automated tests.

Nice to have:

  • You are familiar with the concept of DevOps and CI-CD.
  • Experience of using tools and applications such as: K8s, Docker, Terraform, Splunk, Chef, Puppet or Grafana.

What we’ll offer you:

We trust people to do their best work. That means flexibility over rigid rules, impact over activity, and real investment in your growth both professionally and personally. You’ll be part of a supportive, and friendly culture, surrounded by smart, curious people who care deeply about what they do. We offer flexible working, including hybrid and remote options. Our office hubs are located in Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, London and Bulgaria, with occasional travel to client sites or CreateFuture offices when needed. We trust you to manage your time balancing collaboration with client time and focused work. What matters is the impact you have, not how busy you look.

  • Call with our Talent Acquisition Team
