Create are seeking a skilled freelance Graphic, Colour & Materials Designer to support the design of performance and lifestyle apparel. This is an urgent opportunity for a creative professional who can commit full-time and bring hands-on expertise to help shape the visual and material identity of upcoming collections.
You’ll work closely with designers, product developers, and technical teams to translate ideas into finished materials, graphics, and colour palettes that are visually appealing, technically sound, and commercially relevant.
About the role…- Colour & Material Development: Develop seasonal colour palettes and material concepts that align with product categories and trends. Translate trend insights into designs that are visually appealing, practical, and performance-ready. Ensure consistency and quality in materials, colours, and finishes.
- Graphics & Prints: Create patterns, prints, and graphics for apparel collections. Explore innovative techniques, textures, and finishes to enhance designs. Deliver designs that meet both aesthetic vision and functional requirements.
- Collaboration & Delivery: Work independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (design, product development, technical). Take ownership of tasks and drive projects forward with minimal supervision. Support testing and validation of colour, print, and material performance. Present concepts clearly and adapt based on feedback.
- Proven experience in graphics, colour, and materials design, preferably for apparel or swimwear/activewear.
- Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite and pattern/print creation.
- Knowledge of fabrics, dyeing processes, and material behaviour.
- Ability to balance creative ideas with practical execution.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to take initiative and work independently with minimal guidance.
