Create have teamed up with a women’s manufacturing company, who supply to the High Street, based in Hertfordshire. They are seeking a Fabric Tester, to join there busy establishment They need someone with experience who can fully understand test reports and how to deal with fabric failures with customers Which happen all the time, its all about knowing what’s commercial. Also, have to prove traceability/sustainability to customers this is something that they can teach the candidate if necessary, This is done via documentation that’s obtained from their fabric suppliers. This is a fulltime position 5 days a week in their offices You will be required to do : Base Testing Base test reports to be supplied for all new fabric qualities which must be dated within 12 months, any fails on this report are to be approved by the customer. Bulk Testing Bulk fabric must be sent for testing, any fails on the test report must be submitted to the customer for their approval before the order can be cut. Garment Testing A garment from production must be sent for testing; if there are many prints in the same style only one needs to be tested. Sustainability We submit a document trail of certifications, invoices etc from the source of the yarn through to the purchasing of the fabric for all sustainable fabrics. Wash Care + Fibre Comps Fabric compositions must be checked and confirmed by a test report, wash cares are chosen to be suitable for the fabric type and style of garment Workbooks Test reports, Oeko-Tex certificates etc for each style are uploaded to the workbook Calling-Off Fabrics Emailing fabric mills advising when and where to ship the bulk fabric Requesting fabric lengths to be sent by courier to the factory in advance of the bulk arriving For UK and Turkish shipments you will create an invoice to send to the factory, for Far East shipments and then you will forward to the mills shipping documents to the factory.
