The Opportunity
We are looking for a technically strong, commercially aware and highly motivated Financial Accountant to join our Finance team based in Farringdon. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant who enjoys maintaining robust financial controls, improving processes and ensuring the highest standards of financial reporting and governance within a growing organisation. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records, supporting statutory reporting requirements and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal policies and regulatory obligations. You will be someone who enjoys problem solving, takes pride in delivering accurate financial information and thrives in a fast‐paced environment where attention to detail and continuous improvement are highly valued.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading key areas of the month‐end and year‐end close process
- Preparing and posting technical accounting journals
- Managing revenue recognition processes, including deferred revenue accounting and reconciliations
- Owning balance sheet governance and reconciliation frameworks
- Investigating and resolving reconciling items and unusual balances
- Supporting external audits and statutory reporting requirements
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns, including partial exemption and reverse charge processes
- Supporting lease accounting under FRS 102 and other technical accounting areas
- Driving improvements in financial controls, reporting quality and process efficiency
- Working closely with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business to ensure strong financial governance
What We're Looking For
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or exam‐qualified with relevant experience)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Previous experience within financial accounting, reporting or audit
- Experience supporting month‐end and year‐end close processes
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
