As a member of the nursing team at Create Health, you are ensuring an effective nursing service is provided. High quality patient care should be given with particular reference to the development of holistic nursing care, maintaining the highest clinical standards in accordance with the clinic's philosophy, current policies and procedures, and following the NMC code of conduct and HFEA.
- To represent Create Health by promoting Create ethos and reputation.
- To always deliver high quality care by assessment and evaluation of couples/patients' individual needs.
- To work with all members of the multidisciplinary team in order to ensure positive outcomes for each couple’s treatment.
- To be approachable and friendly and work as part of the team accepting delegated responsibility from the nursing team and supporting the clinical/nursing team in the day-to-day running of the scan lists and theatre procedures.
- Promote the counselling service to all patients.
- Recognise potential safeguarding issues and inform appropriate team members to ensure referrals are made (FGM, domestic violence, multi-agency safeguarding hubs).
- To act in accordance with the Data Protection Act and The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act.
- Prepare consultation rooms at the start of the day and prepare coding sheets for the clinic lists (embryo transfers, egg collections, IUI).
- To assist ensure the safe recovery of patients post-theatre cases.
- Responsibilities for the upkeep and ordering of the laundry supplies and clinical waste.
- Emptying bins and clinical waste at the end of the day as appropriate.
- Stocking of phlebotomy, scanning rooms, theatre and recovery as required.
- Participating in audits in the nursing department.
- Maintaining a clean environment for procedures and theatre recovery.
- To be familiar with the company’s SOP in infection control and Health and Safety.
- To be able to perform phlebotomy and have an understanding of results.
- Assist with the database in collating information about treatment cycles.
- Performing treatment consultations when received adequate training.
- To be link nurse/Co-ordinator for speciality or task – Clinic dependent/specific.
- Understanding of the medicine management policy and dispensing of medication.
- To communicate and liaise with the medical/nursing staff of central hubs and satellite units to provide effective patient communication.
- To help and support other hub and satellite clinics.
- To participate in the weekend roster as required.
- To take a supportive role in the unit’s policies and standard settings in conjunction with other team members.
- To supervise clerical and junior staff in the team as required.
- Ensure policies are followed and problems and incidents are reported as appropriate.
- To act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and the Scope of Professional Practice.
- Ensure that personal NMC registration is maintained.
- To be responsible for continued professional development and revalidation.
- To act in such a way to promote Create Health Clinic.
- To attend and participate in MDT/staff/unit meetings as required.
- To participate in teaching, training and support of nursing staff.
- To be aware of the centre's fire regulations and cardiac arrest and emergency procedures.
- To participate in regular performance reviews.
- To adhere to the terms and conditions of employment as stated by Create Health Clinic.
