We are working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Woolwich that is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS1 and KS2. About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support learning and classroom routines, providing help to individuals and small groups where needed.

  • Support pupils across KS1 and/or KS2 with their learning and development
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Provide 1:1 or small-group support as required
  • Help pupils stay engaged, focused, and motivated in lessons
  • Support pupils with transitions, routines, and positive behaviour
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and wider school staff

What We’re Looking For

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grades 4–9)
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant in a primary school
  • A positive, patient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and well-being
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs is desirable but not essential
