We are recruiting three Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Tower Hamlets. These are full-time, ongoing positions, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.
The Roles
- General Teaching Assistant (2 Positions)
- You will support students in the classroom, working closely with teaching staff to help pupils access learning and achieve their full potential.
- Responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils during lessons across the school.
- Providing one-to-one and small group support where required.
- Assisting students with additional learning needs.
- Supporting pupils with personal/intimate care when required.
- Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider SEND team.
- Promoting a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
- This role involves supporting one student throughout the school day.
- The successful candidate will need to be:
- Highly proactive and vigilant.
- Confident working independently.
- Able to build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.
- Responsible for ensuring the student remains safe and engaged throughout the school day.
- Comfortable supporting learning outside of core classroom lessons.
Essential Requirements
- Degree educated
- Previous experience working with children or young people.
- Comfortable providing personal/intimate care where required.
- Manual Handling training (or willingness to complete training before starting).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual and professional.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
