Are you a passionate, reliable and proactive Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role this September? This role is based within a girls secondary school, so applicants should be comfortable working in an all-girls educational environment.

We are recruiting three Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Tower Hamlets. These are full-time, ongoing positions, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.

The Roles

  • General Teaching Assistant (2 Positions)
    • You will support students in the classroom, working closely with teaching staff to help pupils access learning and achieve their full potential.
    • Responsibilities include:
      • Supporting pupils during lessons across the school.
      • Providing one-to-one and small group support where required.
      • Assisting students with additional learning needs.
      • Supporting pupils with personal/intimate care when required.
      • Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider SEND team.
      • Promoting a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant (1 Position)
    • This role involves supporting one student throughout the school day.
    • The successful candidate will need to be:
      • Highly proactive and vigilant.
      • Confident working independently.
      • Able to build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.
      • Responsible for ensuring the student remains safe and engaged throughout the school day.
      • Comfortable supporting learning outside of core classroom lessons.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree educated
  • Previous experience working with children or young people.
  • Comfortable providing personal/intimate care where required.
  • Manual Handling training (or willingness to complete training before starting).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, punctual and professional.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
