Are you a PE Teacher looking for a new challenge? Are you an ECT looking to gain experience teaching PE in an SEN school? Would you like to work in a NEW SEN school in the heart of Croydon? Create Education have partnered with a new SEN school in Croydon and are hiring multiple teachers, including a specialist PE Teacher. The pupils have diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, and Severe Learning Difficulties. However, despite their individual challenges, the school is committed to enabling each and every one of their pupils to thrive, develop, and lead fulfilling, happy, and as independent a life as possible. The school's mission is to create, adapt, and implement a functional curriculum necessary to meet the diverse individual needs of our student population and increase current and future independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and accessible PE lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with a range of SEN
  • Promote physical health, wellbeing, teamwork, and enjoyment of sport in a safe and inclusive environment
  • Develop structured lesson plans that include adapted physical activities suitable for all pupils
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other staff to support pupil progress
  • Participate in whole-school enrichment and extracurricular programmes

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt PE curriculum delivery to cater for all pupils’ physical and developmental needs
  • Be able to implement personalised physical activity goals and objectives based on each pupil’s strengths and identified needs
  • Show excellent organisational skills and the ability to lead and inspire others
  • Be flexible in their approach and committed to working as part of a team
  • Bring a positive, “can do” attitude and be willing to undergo training in relevant SEN teaching strategies and techniques
  • Exhibit strong teamwork skills and a willingness to contribute to the wider school life
  • Be committed to their own professional development
  • Demonstrate strong communication, personal organisation, and ICT skills
  • Have a track record of good to outstanding teaching practice
  • Have experience or a strong desire to work with pupils with special educational needs
