We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and committed Teacher of History to join our successful and supportive Humanities department at our secondary school located near Chelmsford, Essex. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 for a suitably qualified candidate. The role is available for an immediate start.
The successful candidate will:
- Teach History across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that stretch and challenge students of all abilities
- Monitor, assess and track student progress in line with departmental and whole-school policies
- Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities faculty
- Support the wider life of the school through enrichment and extracurricular opportunities
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential)
- Have experience teaching History in a UK secondary school setting
- Be confident teaching across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable)
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for History
- Be committed to high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement
- Be a reflective practitioner with excellent organisational and communication skills
As our school is located just outside Chelmsford, it would be advantageous for applicants to be drivers, due to limited public transport links.
